As the transportation industry faces increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions and adopt sustainable energy solutions, synthetic fuels, e-fuels and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) have emerged as promising pathways for decarbonising the global transportation sector. SAF is a particularly exciting innovation in aviation, offering a direct replacement for conventional jet fuel and significantly lowering lifecycle carbon emissions. Together, these technologies have the potential to decarbonise various sectors. However, scaling them up and making them cost-competitive will be key for global adoption. Biomethane and biogas are equally seen as critical components of the global energy opportunity.
